I hit my scale weight goal went from 210 to 159 and been on maintenance for a while

"My turn ... I hit my ""scale weight goal"" went from 210 to 159 and been on maintenance for a while. I was happy at 165 and under but last 2-3 weeks just tightened it up a bit and got below the 160 mark! Just for reference I'm 5'7 just under the 40 year mark and when we did the measurements for body fat started at about 26-28%, size 36-38 waist. I'm now closer to the 40 year mark :P but at the 18% body fat mark, size 30 waist and 159 lbs :P Carb face vs Keto ..I still can't believe it >.< Keep going!! this took me about 3 years of trial and error till I found keto a year ago with dr berg, Thomas delaur, dr berry all providing great information and allowing me to stick to it finally and get it done! I hit my first goal... now to goal #2.... time to hit the weights :) You can do it just keep going it's worth it in the end! **EDIT: Just to be clear weight loss was my secondary goal to overall health. What I really wanted out of keto was to be more healthy... I was pre-diabetic, I had inflamation, I had anxiety, I had a lot of skin issues ... HAD is the key word! Keto didn't just get me to lose weight it first and foremost got me HEALTHY :) Keto on! "

My weight lose didn't really hit me until my brother in law posted this picture this past weekend.

I've been following this board since summer. It's great seeing results and hearing the inspiration from other members. If any of you are like me, you always feel your weight lose is slow some days, and great other days. As I'm currently doing IF 3-5 days a week, there are times when I feel I've gained weight after doing OMAD. The morning scale says I don't, but sometimes my mind wants to play tricks on me. My weight lose didn't really hit me until my brother in law posted this picture this past weekend. My wife and I were giving my niece her birthday present. All the macro watching, all the food planning, keeping positive while others outside try to "educate" you differently is all worth it at the end.

It’s been almost 7 months that am on Keto plus intermittent fasting diet and I have lost 66 pounds (30 kgs).

I have a friend who kept on telling me of benefits of Keto & intermittent fasting diet by Dr.Berg for weeks together and I kept ignoring him. One day I decided to watch Dr.Berg’s video on Keto and this made lot of sense, mainly because it explained, how the body reacts to food. It’s been almost 7 months that am on Keto plus intermittent fasting diet and I have lost 66 pounds (30 kgs). My journey: On keto Started : 15th Nov 2018 Weight: SW 233 pounds (106 kgs). CW 167 pounds (76 kgs). GW 143 pounds (65 kgs) Shirt size: Starting 46 (18), Now 40 (16). T-shirt: starting XXL now Medium Waist: Starting waist 44inch. Current waist 32inch. Meals: 2MAD for first 3 months 18:6, OMAD since Mar’19. Weight stall how did I break: 2-3 weight stall, look at your macro try to lower and listen to your body. Exercise: None Supplements: Dr.Berg’s Electrolyte powder, Nutritional yeast. What did I eat? I stuck to a single recipe. Veggies: 7-8 cups of Salad (Iceberg lettuce, Avocado) Dressing: Mustard, Olive oil, ACV and sea salt. Protein: Either of Steak, Salmon, Chicken breast or Egg. Fat: Avocado and Olive oil, very rarely Pecan and Hazelnuts. No Coffee /Tea. How did I manage the crazing: The 7-8 cups of salad was making me full, after the first couple of pounds lost was determined not to undo the success and push on. Lessons learned: * Learn about KETO and Intermittent Fasting ,Know your body type. * Listen to your body and adjust the macros. * Don’t change anything if it’s working.

I owe all this to following a whole foods based, ketogenic (at times just low carb) diet, intermittent and longer term fasting as well as HIIT/weight training

Christopher G. 01/21/20 11:12:31

My sister just sent me this side by side picture...the left one being from a little over two years ago, and the right one from a vacation last week in Las Vegas. I owe all this to following a whole foods based, ketogenic (at times just low carb) diet, intermittent and longer term fasting as well as HIIT/weight training... I'm down 135lb on the scale, lost more body fat, gained muscle and feel like I've even aged backwards a little, lol. My main point is that stalls will happen. You might stumble here and there, but if you want it badly enough and keep at it, it is absolutely possible to start living a life you once thought was impossible. Be consistent, stay patient and trust the process. If you want this for the long term, be ready for the long ride. Mine has just begun. Cheers to all of you and thank you for the motivation and the support. Much love!

I’m down between 35 & 40 pounds as the scale seems to vary from time to time.

Nanette F. 01/21/20 10:41:43

Been doing Keto and intermittent fasting for 7 months. I’m down between 35 & 40 pounds as the scale seems to vary from time to time. My goal is to lose another 100 pounds and I know it will take time, but right now I feel kind of stuck. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance!
