I tried so many diets over the last 8 years... Nothing ever lasted. I started keto in November 2018. It lasted 3 months and I fell off the wagon. Hard. I got super discouraged that I'd only lost 16lbs in 3 months and I gave up. What took me 3 months to lose, I gained it ALL back in 3 weeks. Quitting keto wasn't just giving up on my diet (lifestyle change) but on my health, my confidence and my overall mood and attitude. I became miserable all over again. When you cheat or give up on your diet you're actually just cheating and giving up on yourself. I couldn't walk past myself in the mirror without anger, hurt and disgust in my appearance... I could only now, truly see how my WOE affected my family, my job, and my life. Its catastrophic. June 9th, 2019. The first day of the rest of my life. In just the last 9 weeks I've lost 34lbs. "Hi Dr Berg, My name is Jackie Albrecht, I am from Melbourne, Australia. July 19th will mark my 10 month KETOVERSARY. I would like to thank you for your videos, and knowledge as it was my partner who first stumbled across your YouTube videos, and told me that I would be interested in starting Keto - as its foods that I would like. My History: At my heaviest I was hovering around 120kgs/264lbs. I had injured my knee - by simply slipping in the shower. I lived on Ibuprofen for 12 months daily, and nothing fixed the pain. I had seen your videos about ACV and its benefits, and even though I gave ACV to mt pets in their water and to repel fleas - i never once thought about taking care of myself. After having my son, I stopped caring for me - So I would eat on the go, stop at fast food restaurants on my travels and have chocolate with coffee before id leave for work. Really, an unhealthy lifestyle. Getting back to my knee, I didn't realise the impact it played on my mental health. I wouldnt engage in physical activities with my son, I made excuses for why I wouldnt participate in fun things. It got to a point where I didnt recognise the person I was. I was always in pain, and if it wasnt my leg - it was my shoulder, migraines, back pain - you name it. It was always something. Depression was hovering above, and I then refused to engage in functions and catching up with friends, as I had severe anxiety on how big I had got. I knew at my lowest point, I needed a change. "Hello- My name is Janet Martin Masolo. I started going to Pilates 3-4 days a week. I started my journey with Keto diet on May 2018. The reason I started the diet was because my 50 yr old husband found out he’s diabetic and has a fatty liver. My husband does research apt and found out about your you tube channel and how to change a fatty liver. Instead of putting him on a special diet I volunteered to go on it with him. At first the weight slowly dropped off and when my husband was losing more weight than I was I switched to Keto IF and took an extra class to speed up the weight loss. From May 2018 to sept 2018 I lost 40, husband lost 40 and my daughter lost 35. We were able to do this in a healthy way by listening to your you tube channel, Instagram and Facebook! I don’t drink so that was easy for me to give up! Sugar was the hardest. I think sugar should be considered the gateway drug as that is about the worst thing for your body!! I’m glad I’m free of that garbage. I only buy organic, grass fed meats, butter and cheeses. We eat lots of kale and produce. We no longer dine out as most places don’t cater to our healthy clean lifestyle. I’m a pretty good cook so it’s fine. I know what I’m putting in my mouth at all times. I’m grateful to you Dr Berg for sharing your helpful and healthy information to the public. I want you to know you aren’t wasting your time or breath! Of course, I continue my diet and workouts, the goal is loosing 3 kg amount of fat, and building 3 kg amount of muscle.
