How did you discover keto?
I discovered keto and intermittent fasting thanks to my aunt and uncle, who helped me in the beginning. If it weren’t for them, I would not be where I am today. They gave me the courage to do it, as well as the knowledge and skills that they both learned from Dr. Berg. They showed me how to research, what to do exactly, what to look for in food products, and more. I put in the work and stuck with it, because I was determined to change my health and to be happier. I’m here to say that I’ve achieved my goal of 118-pound loss since February 2024.
What did your diet look like prior to adopting keto?
I was a sugar junkie, ate fast food, and I didn’t care what I put in my mouth. I was so unhappy.
Did you have any problems with your weight or health before going on keto?
Yes, I’ve always been overweight, and I thought I would always be overweight, until Dr. Berg.
How has your health improved since you started keto?
I have great cholesterol. All my blood work numbers are fantastic.
How does an average day of eating/fasting look for you on keto?
I do OMAD. I focus on good protein sources, cruciferous vegetables, and excellent high-quality fats. My daily net carbs are between 0 and 5. I do not count the carbs in my cruciferous vegetables, however. Also, I’ve noticed my taste buds have changed for the good.
Does exercise play a role in your success on keto? If so, how?
I walk daily. Recently, I incorporated light-weight training.
If you could offer advice to someone starting keto, what would you say?
Do not listen to the naysayers. Follow your heart. Educate, educate, and educate yourself. This is a lifestyle change, not a diet. And it is WONDERFUL!
What is your favorite keto recipe from Dr. Berg?
The Keto Lasagna and the Tuna Salad, but really, all of them are my favorites.
Any other details you want to share?
I just would like to thank Dr. Berg for all his insight and all the videos. Whenever I’m stuck, I just look for a video, or I ask my aunt and uncle, they are very helpful at finding the right video on Dr Berg’s site.
