1. Fasting means going long periods without food

This approach still gives the body a break from constant digestion and repeated insulin stimulation. It can also make intermittent fasting more approachable for those who don’t tolerate longer fasting windows right away. Eating the same amount of food is completely acceptable, but doing so within a restricted window rather than throughout the day helps the body regulate blood sugar and insulin levels.

2. Fasting is bad for blood sugar balance

Fasting isn’t automatically harmful to blood sugar balance. In fact, intermittent fasting is often studied for its effects on insulin sensitivity and blood glucose regulation.
