There are 12 levels of ketosis. Levels 1 to 5 are where most nutritional ketosis and intermittent fasting take place. Levels 6 to 8 are where your body might be if you’re doing prolonged fasting. After level 9, your body is in ketoacidosis. This isn’t the level of ketosis that happens on a Healthy Keto diet. Ketoacidosis primarily happens to diabetics who don’t take the right amount of insulin. In summary, ketoacidosis is very different from nutritional ketosis.
