For many people trying to lose weight, weight loss drinks seem to be the way to go. The problem with buying these drinks in the store is that they can be loaded with all sorts of chemicals, preservatives, sugar and other unhealthy aspects. This is why Dr. Berg's weight loss drink may be just the thing for you. There are a few simple ingredients, but there are also some considerations you will need to keep in mind.
You will start with 2 oz. cranberry juice. The thing with this is that you do not want it mixed with apple juice or have high fructose corn syrup as the point is to keep the sugar count low, though it will be bitter.
Next you will add in one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. While this may seem crazy for a weight loss drink, there are actually people who have been known to lose wieght simply by drinking this alone because it can help to detoxify your liver.
Add in one teaspoon of lemon juice. With this, you can go with just about any lemon juice you find at your whole foods store, including powdered, as long as it does not contain high fructose corn syrup. You can substitute lime juice for lemon. To finish off the drink, you will add 6 oz. of water.
A Few Considerations
This drink is a great way to help you lose weight. However, you do not want to drink it when you are not thirsty. Rather you can drink about five of these glasses a day. It can be helpful to have a few made up before you go to work so that you will have them.
You should also know that the taste will be bitter, which can be a difficult adjustment. If you are having issues with the taste you can add in a little stevia. If you are giving this to your children, then you may want to add in honey. However, it is not advisable to do this for yourself as this will add in considerable amounts of sugar to the drink.
