You Can Do This At Any Age

I am 73 years old and lost my husband 4 and 1/2 years ago. I have been disabled for 21 years with severe advanced arthritis in my knees. Because of poor circulation in my lower legs, I am not a candidate for knee surgery. I went to my Dr. every three months for a Diabetes check-up. I was on shots and pills because my A1c was 10.4. I weighed 255 Lbs.

One Dr. visit she was asking some questions and to her my answers revealed that I was depressed. I never considered that I was a depressed person but she told me if I could lose weight most likely I could get rid of the Diabetes and live another 20 years. I was not interested in living another 20 years but I was interested in being as healthy as I could be in the time I have left.

So I started looking at ways I could lose weight and be healthy and found the keto/low carb lifestyle. I started right out of the gate with the 23:1 protocol. Eating one meal in a one hour window and fasting for the other 23 hours. Within 4 months, I lost 40 pounds and my A1c went from 10.4 to 5.5 and I was taken off all meds. Over a one year period I have lost 70 pounds and am no longer considered a Diabetic. I'm feeling wonderful. I got out of the wheelchair, left the walker behind and occasionally have to use the cane but not often. I am confident that this is the way to go and living another 20 years doesn't sound bad at all. I'm actually looking forward to it. Blessings to all.
