Fat Storing Hormone resistance reversal success story - Dr. Berg's Healthy Keto
Not a weight loss success story, but a diabetes/Fat Storing Hormone resistance reversal success story! Between April and late May I suddenly lost more than 60 pounds, going from 223 to 156.9. I'm 6'2" so while 30 pounds of weight loss would have been healthy, this was not healthy weight loss at all. I wasn't dieting or doing anything that would have caused this weight loss intentionally. So I did the only thing a sane person would do and went to see my doctor. On June 10 I went in for my physical and fasting blood draw, and got a call the next day by my doctor telling me to see her first thing in the morning. She said I had really bad diabetes. So I went in on the 12th to get the low down. My blood glucose that morning was 365mg/dl and my HBA1C was "off the charts" as their device only measures up to 15% and she said mine was probably way higher. She told me it was fixable but I would have to cut my carbohydrates and take medication, that I would need medication probably for the rest of my life. I refuse to let anything rule my life and asked my aunt who is a nurse that works with diabetic patients to help reduce the amount of medication they need a month for an insurance company. She turned me on to a few sources of information, and recommended a good endocrinologist. I also spoke with my cousin who is diabetic (now type 1) for advice. Both had recommended your videos, and the ketogenic lifestyle. My aunt said that out of thousands of patients, she could literally count how many have successfully significantly cut their medications or were able to drop them altogether, and that ketogenic was the common denominator in those cases. So I was sold. Over the next 5 days, I binge-watched a ton of your videos and some from other doctors on youtube, read a bunch of articles and blogs, and a few studies. I threw out all of the stuff in my kitchen that had any carbohydrates, sugar, processed grains, and other things high on the glycemic index. Went to several grocery stores and restocked my shelves with the healthiest options available to me that fit a low carb, high fat ketogenic diet. I have been slowly switching all of my sources of meat to grass-fed/grass-finished, pasture-raised as I can afford. Increased the amount of greens (vegetables) to about 7 or 8 cups per day. Butter coffee, Apple Cider Vinegar with lemon juice in my water. I basically made an immediate switch to a full ketogenic diet and also increased the amount of exercise. IF fit very nicely with my current eating habits (1 or 2 meals per day very close together), I just cut out all the snacking throughout the day, substituted with bulletproof coffee, and fat bombs (which I no longer seem to need to stay satiated while fasting). It's been almost 2 months now and thanks to your videos I have been able to manage low-normal glucose levels between 60-80 WITHOUT any medication. My estimated HBA1C has dropped from more than 15% to 4.3%, and I am excited to see my doctor with these results and I am sure she will be as happy as I am. From watching your videos and others, I knew that I would see these changes, but never in my life could I have expected to see such drastic changes so quickly! Your videos and the ketogenic lifestyle have allowed me to reclaim my life from something that I thought was going to change me forever for the worse! Thank you so much for making these videos and helping others to reverse their diabetes/Fat Storing Hormone resistance, and also help even more people to hopefully never end up in the position that my diet and habits put me in.
