Starting keto:
George Dewitte’s journey with keto has been based on experimentation. With no set goal, he set out to discover what his new resting weight would be. In the process, he lost 135 pounds (61 kg).
Over the last 15 months, since he switched to a keto lifestyle and began following Dr. Berg’s advice, he has transformed his body so that he weighs half of his starting weight.
Dewitte had a long list of health issues when he started keto.
He came across Dr. Berg’s videos serendipitously while doing research on neurogenesis. He was looking to rejuvenate his body to the best level of health possible and found a way with keto and intermittent fasting.
While he was fortunate enough to be surrounded by an encouraging support system, the best part for Dewitte has been sharing his journey. He has allowed others to witness the process by “sharing the links to Dr. Berg’s videos, and seeing people I know radically alter their physiology and the potentiality for extended lifespan.”
Feeling like he had a huge lack of knowledge was hard for him at times, but incorporating Dr. Berg’s tips incrementally was extremely advantageous for Dewitte. He learned persistence and how to intelligently apply contemporary science to help him along. He was continually inspired by the changes he saw in himself.
Health improvements:
Now, Dewitte enjoys high energy, increased cognition, better sleep, and improvement in his other health conditions. “I sometimes don’t recognize myself in the mirror,” he said. “And my eyesight has returned to 20/20.”
What resonated most for Dewitte in watching Dr. Berg’s videos, was the realization that keto with intermittent fasting is a realistic lifestyle option. “What are you willing to do to extend your lifespan, reduce health risks, and hopefully prevent many chronic conditions–and what if it was relatively easy?” he says. “That’s the question.”
Favorite way to exercise:
Dewitte enjoys long-distance walks; typically, 10 to 15 miles a day.
Favorite keto recipes:
Raw foods. Salmon, wild trout, and organic chicken. Egg drop soup with bone broth. Seedlings, broccoli, arugula, onion, etc.
