From fat and miserable to best shape of my life at 38

Hey Dr. Berg,

I know you get an immense amount of feedback, as you should. But here's my story all the same.

I've aaaaalways had an appetite, eating a large pizza to myself at 2 am was commonplace in my late teens. From then until I was 35, I would fluctuate from 220 to my heaviest weigh-in of 256lbs in 2016. For reference, I'm 6' tall and I'm a structural Ironworker by trade. My job has always kept me active enough that I could justify the lack of care in diet, even though my entire life I was always self-conscious of how I looked.

In 2018, I came across your channel and by Christmas of that year, I made the choice of trying intermittent fasting. It came pretty easy to me as far as fighting the hunger. It became kind of a game to me, see how far I could go, and then when I would eat I would make sure it was clean. I have 4 kids and strict keto has been a challenge but I make a conscious effort to avoid carbs as much as I can.

Summer of 2019, I started to do some weight training and hit the heavy bag (heavy bag work is by far my favorite thing to do) And now 3 years later, I'm holding strong still at 172lbs body weight. Sometimes I let myself eat more and might go to 185-190 but as soon as I see 190 I cut back and come back down real quick.

You've quite literally saved my life!
