Instructions

  • Let steak rest at room temperature for 20 minutes.
  • Pat steak dry with paper towel to achieve good sear. Season steak with 1 pinch sea salt and 1 pinch pepper on both sides.
  • Place pan on medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon avocado oil. When oil is hot, place steak in pan, dropping steak away from you to prevent any hot oil from splashing back,
  • Lower heat to medium, not moving steak for 2 to 3 minutes to create a crispy sear.
  • If steak was at room temperature, cook each side for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • For medium steak, use a meat thermometer and remove from pan when internal temperature reaches 135 degrees F / 57 degrees C.
  • Allowing steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing into it helps the natural juices to absorb back into the meat.
  • Cover in 1 tablespoon butter and enjoy!
