Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef shaped into 2 patties
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2-4 leaves butterhead lettuce loose leaf
  • 1 tomato sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F / 204 degrees C.
  • On a baking pan, place 2 slices of bacon in an L shape, and weave the rest of the bacon slices to form a square. Create 2 squares per burger.

  • Bake the bacon until crispy, 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Remove bacon from the oven and lay on a paper towel to blot the grease.
  • Preheat a grill or pan to medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil to skillet. Season both sides of the ground beef patties with ½ teaspoon sea salt and ½ teaspoon black pepper.  Grill to your desired temperature.

  • Cut the bacon into four squares to start to assemble the burger.
  • Place 2 of the bacon squares on a plate or serving board. Top each with lettuce, a burger patty, sliced tomato, and finish burgers with the other 2 bacon squares.
