Life before keto:
Luis Duran loves to play volleyball, but after some injuries, his doctor gave him two options: lose the excess weight or play less volleyball. Duran chose the former.
However, despite countless attempts at dieting and a few rounds of liposuction, the weight stubbornly remained. Nothing worked.
After starting keto:
Then Duran found keto and Dr. Berg’s videos. He lost 28 pounds in only a few months after starting keto and intermittent fasting.
Watching Dr. Berg’s videos really helped him understand the science, logic, and simplicity behind intermittent fasting (IF), fat-storing hormone resistance, the use of apple cider vinegar, and other related concepts. “Every night after coming from my volleyball game, I tuned in to YouTube and played some videos of Dr. Berg,” said Duran. “These videos were my biggest support system.”
Now he leads an IF group at work that has seven members. They use Dr. Berg’s videos as a reference in their weekly meetings. “I wish I had started the group sooner so that I wasn’t doing it alone,” says Duran. But even when he only had himself to rely on, he managed to persist. He is beyond grateful that he never gave up.
Duran found it difficult when the ideal quality of food wasn’t available. “I also had to give up the habit of eating so much several times a day,” he said. “But the satisfaction of seeing those extra pounds go away is priceless.”
In addition to the triumph of losing the weight, Duran says he feels enthusiastic, more energetic, and more secure about himself. And his biggest win is that he can continue to enjoy playing volleyball!
