How did you discover keto?
My name is Hannah, and I’ve been one of Dr. Eric Berg’s virtual assistants for 6-7 years already. Before, I was just reading and checking all these success stories. Now, I am happy to share my short keto and intermittent fasting (IF) personal success story and before-and-after images.
What did your diet look like prior to adopting keto?
I live in the Philippines, where people would eat 3 meals a day, every meal with rice – plus “merienda” or snacks. I was never really conscious about my health, even when I started working with Dr. Berg, I still wasn’t convinced to change my very unhealthy lifestyle. Juggling motherhood and work, I depended on caffeinated energy drinks and coffee – 7-8 cups every day.
I watched Dr. Berg’s video about the “7 Things Your Face Tells You About Your Blood Sugar”, and that eventually changed my mind about everything. I felt like he was describing my current body situation.
How has your health improved since you started keto?
So, in December 2021, I started keto and IF. I felt really great, water retention has been reduced quickly, my energy is extremely high, my sleep quality is better, and I still have no cravings or hunger.
I lost 6 kgs (13 lbs.) very fast. My stomach area is getting smaller every day. Just like what Dr. Berg said, “The best indicator of success is your waist circumference, measure your waist, and that should be shrinking if you are doing this correctly”.
How does an average day of eating/fasting look for you on keto?
I did not deprive myself of anything because I don’t have hunger or cravings – I just trust the process that took me 7 years to start. This was the small tweak on my diet: I stopped drinking caffeine-related drinks, especially coffee, and of course, no rice.
My morning breakfast would be just supplements and green tea – vitamin B complex, evening primrose oil, sea kelp.
Lunch at 2 PM: I ate more kimchi, lettuce, white onion, eggplant, broccoli, bacon strips, and chicken fillet.
No dinner, but I would drink my holy grail, of course, my beloved Green tea with lemon and vitamin D3 (20,000IUs) – the best! I did not suffer from keto flu, and my journey was really smooth and easy.
Any other details you want to share?
I’m lucky that I get to be reminded every day of how to do it correctly – just trust the process. Don’t stress yourself with your weighing scale because weight loss will just follow, but the benefits of doing keto and IF are beyond measure! And yes, keto and IF work wonders!
I still have a long way to go, but I’m really, really happy.
