Life before keto:
At age 31, Rohit noticed he had more fat on his belly than he liked; he weighed 170 pounds (77 kg). He took to the internet in search of answers. The “fitness specialists” he found told him to eat mostly protein, so he first tried to raise his intake of protein.
“I started eating 12 egg whites a day and eating chicken and fish three times a week,” he said. “I was exercising every day and building muscle, but my belly fat was still there and wouldn’t go away at any cost.”
Rohit continued eating this way for years, with his weight fluctuating between 160 pounds (73 kg) and 178 pounds (81 kg). Still, he didn’t lose hope.
Discovering keto:
Eventually, he found Dr. Berg’s videos while surfing YouTube. “I really liked the way he wrote down everything and explained everything so well that anyone can understand him, even without a biology degree,” said Rohit. “From Dr. Berg, I learned about intermittent fasting, one meal a day, Fat Storing Hormone, fat, Fat Storing Hormone resistance, ketosis, and kale shakes. I’m always learning more.”
Although Rohit claimed that there was nothing hard about keto itself, he was encouraged by his own self-respect and wanting to set a good example for his two-year-old son. Still, if he could do things all over again, he said, he would have quit smoking sooner.
“The only problem is people don’t know a lot, but they think they know everything. Everyone wants quick results, which won’t happen naturally,” he said. “But the best part is that Dr. Berg’s knowledge is free.”
Health improvements:
After six months of following the keto lifestyle, Rohit has more energy, an improved mood, less sugar craving, and stronger decision-making skills. He’s lost about 26 pounds (12 kg) and his waist size has gone from a 38 to a 32. His goal is a waist size of 29.
“Do it now,” he advised. “Dr. Berg’s way will get it done naturally.”
Favorite ways to exercise:
Rohit enjoys brisk walks, keeping his heart rate between 120 and 130 BPM, and functional training at the gym.
Favorite keto recipe:
Legumes (any four) soaked in water overnight, tofu, onion, tomato, cucumber, soya chunks, brown rice, peanuts, half an apple, half a pear fruit, 20g butter, cumin seeds, ajwain seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, black and white sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, a little curd, baby spinach, some green salad dressing with green chili, red chili flakes, a little spirulina, some oats… mix it all.
