Discovering keto:
Sharon’s son was the first to introduce her to the world of keto and Dr. Berg’s videos. She had been trying out a vegan diet when he assured her that sugar was causing her problems, not meat. That was about seven months ago, following a troubling doctor’s visit in which the doctor diagnosed Sharon with pre-diabetes.
“I loved the way Dr. Berg explained everything in simple terms, so I started watching a lot of his videos,” says Sharon. “There’s so much to learn from watching them. First and foremost is the fact that most of what ails us comes from our diet.”
After starting keto:
After starting keto, she was encouraged to learn that she didn’t have to give up desserts and bread. Sharon loves Dr. Berg’s recipes, and looking at what she eats in a day, you can see that it’s anything but restrictive.
For breakfast, eggs, avocado, meats, and cheeses are on the menu. Sharon keeps it simple for lunch with something like tuna and crackers, cottage cheese, and a green salad. She finishes things off with a dinner of meat and vegetables. She also includes Dr. Berg’s Wheat Grass Juice Powder and apple cider vinegar with lemon.
Along the way, Sharon has become truly passionate about changing the way she eats. Her husband might even say she’s become obsessed! Sharon tells everyone she can about keto; she believes Dr. Berg’s videos are incredibly valuable. “If I were younger, I would become a Keto Coach,” she says. “So many Americans have unhealthy diets.”
Health improvements:
It was never Sharon’s goal to lose weight, and she’s now down to 118 pounds (54 kg). She’s actually trying to keep the weight on. But living a keto lifestyle is more than just weight loss. “My husband and I both have more vitality and feel great,” she says.
Favorite ways to exercise:
Gardening, walking her dog, and swimming three times a week all contribute to Sharon’s active and healthy habits.
Favorite keto recipe:
Peach Ginger Paleo Muffins.
