Share 5-7 results or changes you’ve noticed.
1) I started eating clean and working out; I lost weight and have kept it off for 25 years (starting weight: 165, current weight: 115 lbs.)
2) My sleeping patterns became 90% better, which improved my metabolism and energy
3) My skin, hair, and nails are healthy; many people think I look years younger
4) I have energy most of the day and do not feel sluggish
5) No more brain fog
What challenges did you face when starting?
Routines, especially raising two boys while working. Also, finding the right supplements that I lacked, trial and error with diet and eating clean, and getting solid advice.
How did you overcome them?
Determination to not be like my parents at 300 pounds with so many medical conditions. Discipline to stick to schedules while allowing myself small cheats, studying nutrition to really learn what not to eat or drink, and reading everything I could on diet. I also became a personal trainer to learn about my body.
What does your routine look like now?
I changed my diet and started eating clean and doing intermittent fasting.
I wake up every morning at 4 am, drink water with lemon, and go to the gym for daily strength training and cardio classes (45 minutes to an hour, 5-6 days a week). When I get home, I go for a long walk of 45 mins to an hour and have my first clean meal after fasting for 16-18 hours.
After work I have my second meal for the day, and start fasting by 1 pm. I keep busy and go for a bike ride or walk in the afternoon. I am asleep by 7-7:30 pm and get 7-8 hours a night. On weekends I hike.

- Increased confidence. People stop me all the time to tell me how good of shape I am in or that I look good for my age.
- I can perform at optimal levels, never get depressed, stay alert, and have better reaction times.
- My mobility has greatly improved; I feel good when I can get in my clothes and be flexible.
- It has kept me young and active, which my kids love.
- This journey makes me realize how much we depend on our bodies to survive.
What advice would you give someone starting with this area?
Do the right research and apply what works for you and your body. Keep setting daily goals; if you fail at one attempt, keep trying. Stop listening to friends and stick to your schedule.
