How did you discover keto? 

When I started this journey into the unknown world of counterfeit foods, I was riddled with arthritis, and every other ‘itis’ known to man, along with several other ailments. I couldn’t even walk up and down stairs…  

Then, I came across Dr. Berg on YouTube, and everything changed! Not right away, but after a couple of years of research, background checking, and cross-checking… I found several doctors that confirmed what the other was saying. Dr. Berg and the motivational Dr. Mandell. Then came Dr. William Davis, the icing (yogurt) on the cake.  

What did your diet look like prior to adopting keto? 

I ate processed meats, canned food, fast food, and sweets of every kind. 

Did you have any problems with your weight or health before going on keto? 

No, I was of average weight for my height. Weight wasn’t my issue; it was autoimmune diseases. 

How has your health improved since you started keto? 

From not being able to climb up stairs to skipping every other one. From pain and stiffness to ready for the Olympics! From not being able to walk up a hill, to ‘look out, I’m coming through!’ 

How does an average day of eating/fasting look for you on keto? 

I start with brunch about 10-2 pm, then dinner about 5-6 pm. Done for the day. 

Does exercise play a role in your success on keto? If so, how? 

Absolutely! Very important, we only get as old as we LET ourselves get! If you don’t move it, you will lose it. Every muscle you want to keep! You have to at least stretch a little bit each day. It doesn’ttake a lot of time to just move. Tai chi is good! 

If you could offer advice to someone starting keto, what would you say? 

Start SLOWLY, but start. Just start by substituting one thing; bad food for better food, and so on. You can stay with something a lot better if it tastes good to you. Make it the way you like it. Make it the new norm. 

What is your favorite keto recipe from Dr. Berg? 

Salads with EVOO and apple cider vinegar!
