Keto Jalapeño Poppers Recipe

These amazing jalapeño poppers are packed with cream cheese and a combination of herbs. To take it up a notch, you can also sprinkle some cheese on top before putting the peppers in the oven.

Whether your jalapeño poppers are hot or mild, will depend on how long you cook the peppers. If you were to use fresh jalapeño peppers and cook them just a little bit, they would be hotter. But, the longer you cook them, the milder they will become. Sometimes, the older the peppers are, the milder they are as well.

These jalapeño poppers make a perfect side dish or appetizer. But, you could also have them as your meal too because they're very rich. Jalapeños are also a great source of vitamin C.

Ingredients:

12 to 15 jalapenos: cut lengthwise and scrape the seeds out

8 oz cream cheese, room temperature

¼ tsp sea salt

½ tsp garlic powder

black pepper, to taste

⅓ cup finely grated cheddar cheese

⅓ cup chopped green onions

¼ cup chopped cilantro (substitute parsley if you like)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and grease a baking sheet, or line with parchment paper

In a medium bowl, add your cream cheese, chopped onions and cilantro

along with sea salt, black pepper and garlic powder

Mix together well

Take your jalapenos, cut and deseeded, and scoop about a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture into each pepper

Grate cheddar cheese and top the poppers with it

Place on a baking sheet and cook for 10 to 13 minutes until the top is bubbly and slightly browned

Serve immediately!

*Note: you can cook your peppers longer, if you want to lessen the spice. The less you cook them, the spicier they will be
