How did you discover keto?
I came across a holistic doctor on YouTube who explained the benefits of intermittent fasting and eating low-carb, high-protein foods.
What did your diet look like prior to adopting keto?
My weight was climbing slowly, eating 3 meals a day and having sweet treats daily.
Did you have any problems with your weight or health before going on keto?
Yes, I’m 5’1´´ and weighed 184 pounds before coming across the intermittent fasting videos.
How has your health improved since you started keto?
I went from 184 pounds to 170 pounds doing the 16/8 intermittent fasting and cutting down on sweets, but eventually hit a plateau, which made me want try the 18/6 fasting pattern. I lost more weight then hit another plateau. I’ve been finally doing a 22/2 fasting pattern and really focused on eating healthier. I’m now at 160 pounds, but need to get to my goal.
How does an average day of eating/fasting look like for you on keto?
At 11 am, I eat 2 eggs, 2 slices of cracked wheat bread with butter, and coffee with half-and-half and a teaspoon of coconut sugar. At 1 pm, I eat a small bowl of ground beef with spinach and avocado. Sometimes homemade yogurt with berries or a small slice of cream cheese pie.
Does exercise play a role in your success on keto? If so, how?
50 reps of leg lifts, each leg, 100 reps ab roller.
If you could offer advice to someone starting keto, what would you say?
Eggs and beef are a great source of protein, and intermittent fasting should be included.
What is your favorite keto recipe from Dr. Berg?
The best thing I tried was making my own yogurt. I even bought the yogurt maker he used. I’m looking forward to trying the bread he made with his wife, Karen. I’m from PR, and bread is in my veins. Love bread with butter, but I need to make better choices. 🙂
Any other details you want to share?
I’ve been subscribed to Dr Berg’s YouTube videos, and I must say it changed my life! I must have shared dozens of his videos with my family, and I’ve continued to share Dr. Berg’s videos.
