On 9th Aug 2013, I had a silent heart attack, and a blood clot developed in my heart. I was told I had heart failure (ef of 17%), dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertension, and hypothyroidism. I was implanted with a defibrillator. I weighed 300 lbs. I also fell into a deep depression and gained 61lbs in 2 1/2 years, so I weighed a total of 361 lbs. Then I died in March 2016. My defibrillator brought me back. The doctors told me, "If this doesn't wake you up what will?!" Well, my team of doctors put together a plan. Gastric bypass was my only option at the time, so my surgeon set me up with a low-carb low-calorie light exercise program. I lost 101 lbs in my first 4 months. By the time my insurance approved me for surgery, I lost 130 lbs total. The surgeon told me I would've had to gain 30 lbs back to even qualify for surgery. I said no thank you and kept on moving forward. As my weight started to come off, it got easier to exercise. As of today I no longer need a heart transplant, My ef is stable at 22%. I lift heavy weights 4 to 5 times a week for about an hour, I do HIIT cardio 2 times a week for 15 minutes, and LISS 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I went from 361 lbs to 191 lbs in 18 1/2 months. 171 lbs gone! After my 4 months on keto losing 101 lbs, I went to macro/flexible dieting and lost another 70 lbs. I am now back to the keto diet because I had more energy and my hypo levels were optimally doing it. I just want to say thank you for your videos. They are very informative. You have inspired me to vlog my own journey on Facebook. To make it known that being diagnosed with heart failure is not a death sentence. Sincerely, Tammi Nencki.
