Hey! A year ago I started doing research on intermittent fasting when I was a little bit overweight. A year later, intermittent fasting has become a lifestyle, something I don't even think about anymore, it's just how I eat. I went from 75 kg to 63 kg, which is ideal for my height of 170 cm as a 30 year old woman. I don't feel like I've had to give up anything, not my favourite foods or alcohol (which I probably should though!). I do think that stopping eating red meat has helped as well though as that means I eat less fast food and processed food. I started very slowly, pushing the first meal til 12 or 1, then having my last meal at 7 or 8. I did this for quite a while as I didn't want to jump to the deep end too quickly and end up giving up. Once my body started to get used to the rhythm, I started shortening the eating window on those days that I felt comfortable to do so. Still not being too rigid, still not forcing anything. I still don't. Nowadays I still have days when I'm being lenient about the window, and then then days when I can easily fit the eating within the 4 hour window. This is also the reason why it's easy to live with intermittent fasting: Once your body is used to it and you've done it for a while, you can open up the window at times when needed: There's an unexpected dinner invite, or a late night partying and drinking session etc. And then the following days you just go a little bit rigid again. The ''How to do Intermittent Fasting for Serious Weight Loss'' video on Youtube is probably the best introduction to IF I've seen, as it's so clear and short about the concept. Just wanted to share my success story as i feel like I'm back to my old self, my old ideal weight and I've had to give up very few things to keep it up. Now when family and friends around you are having breakfast, I'll have a couple of black coffees and don't even feel tempted to eat. I'm just not hungry before early afternoon. Zero issues. :)
