Finally a diet we can live with.

I first found out about Dr. Berg buying his sleep Aid (fantastic) and I think maybe a Electrolyte powder product. I started watching some Dr. Berg Keto videos but at the time my husband and I were on a HCG diet. We would go on it drop the weight no problem and then try and make a change back to healthy eating but it never went well. I think we did this 3 times. On the HCG extremely strict diet we were hungry and didn't feel well. There were also side effects that disappointed us. But we did it and have a strong constitution when we do something like this. We started this diet on Monday the 21st of June. We didn't wait to do the Intermediate fasting either. Day one we changed our hours to no food until 12:30pm finishing dinner by 6pm. This diet is so delicious we cannot believe we in our mid 60s are loosing the inches and weight we are. I know it will have to slow down but we are in NO hurry. As long as we feel better and have a way of eating to follow we're all in! My husband keeps saying "I'm so full how can this be working". After two days on this diet we have almost no hunger which makes it pretty darn easy. We are early risers getting up between 5am to 6am. in the morning we have MCT powder in our coffee and a dash of full cream in our first cup. After that it is water until 12:30. So think of that! We go an average of 6 hours awake and up in the morning without a bite of food with no problems. By our lunch hour we are ready to eat. We have daily a big salad with chopped up smoked chicken, bacon or whatever meat choice 3/4 cup and then I add some feta , olives, my baked almond slices as croutons and my from scratch greek dressing. At dinner it is a meat and usually two vegetables with butter and cheese etc, Sometimes a slice of tomato with Mozerella and oil and vinegar with basil on top or a small amount of allowed berries. So that's our meals basically in general. There is a occasional spaghetti squash or cauliflower rice, I used a cut up chicken and a full cream base and vegetables and put over these and we lost just fine. It's amazing to be able to do this. Weird thing is our keto test strips are just pale pink. But we know we are ok because we have no hunger until our meal time and can feel it. I look forward when the time comes to looking at the videos of Dr. Berg's on stabilizing our weight. Right now we are just enjoying the success and know we have found the right program. My husband has a serious arthritis and many back fusions and surgeries over the years. He and I went out last weekend and tore our garage apart and started walls and floor painting! He feels great and so do I.! I don't know why Dr. Berg give so much of his time towards this but I surely appreciate it so much!
