Post Pregnancy Weight

Most new mothers feel that they look horrible with their new post pregnancy weight. They usually struggle to shed off the weight so that they can fit in to their old clothes like they used to before they got pregnant and gained all the weight. However, there are a few mothers who like their new curves especially those who considered themselves to be skinny and “straight”. These kinds of mothers would like to maintain this new weight at all costs. The following are some of the helpful tips that they can use in order to help them maintain their new weight:

  • The first thing to do is to observe nutrition. There are certain foods that help maintain a healthy weight. Avoid foods that are rich in trans fats and other artificial additives as these add no nutritional value to your body. Instead go for whole meal foods and complex carbohydrates which add more energy to the body. The key is to ensure that your intake of calories is as recommended by your doctor especially if you are a breastfeeding mother.
  • Avoid weighing yourself all the time. Losing 1-3 lbs through the week or even during the day is considered as normal. If you keep on checking your weight to ensure that you are not losing any weight, you can be guaranteed to lose more weight because you’re stressing your mind and this is counterproductive to your health.
  • Ensure that you do enough exercise to help you gain muscle mass. Discuss with your doctor whether you are ready to start weight training. This will prevent you from injuring yourself especially if not much time has elapsed since you gave birth.
  • Create a positive and optimistic approach to your health. Do not just focus on maintaining your weight but focus also on your health. This will help you enjoy doing routines that keep your body healthy, thus helping you maintain your post pregnancy weight.
