Ingredients

  • 3 ounces bacon
  • ½ onion medium-sized
  • 10 cups collard greens
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F / 177 degrees C.
  • Bake 3 ounces bacon for 25 to 30 minutes. Save bacon fat.

  • In large sauce pot, add 2 to 3 tablespoons bacon fat. Cook onions low for 10 minutes.
  • Add 10 cups collard greens and 1 cup chicken broth. Cover and cook for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • While greens are cooking, chop bacon.
  • Add 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and 1 pinch salt to collard greens.
