Lucille Roth's Story

Images Story

By: Lucille Roth

Unhappy circumstances led Lucille Roth to look for some answers and then to find success with keto. When she lost her mother, age 64, to diabetic complications, Roth was by her side watching a sugar addiction kill her.

Although it was her mother’s death that prompted Roth’s weight loss journey, her own health was certainly a problem too. As a preschool teacher weighing 305 pounds (138 kg), she found it difficult to be as active as she needed to be at work. She suffered from sore joints and weak knees. She was pre-diabetic. “I decided it was up to me to change,” she said.

When she returned to teaching last August, a co-worker introduced Roth to keto. In her research she found Dr. Berg and began watching every video. “When I had questions, I could usually find the answers from a video,” said Roth. “I found so much info about getting healthy first and then focusing on the weight.”

The hardest part for Roth was believing that she could do it, but now that she’s succeeding she wishes she had started sooner. Today, people continually ask how she’s dropping the weight. “I love spreading the word about keto and giving others the tools to help them,” Roth said. “I refer everyone to Dr. Berg.”

Roth has lost 63 pounds (29 kg) in only four months of keto. She’s looking forward to the future, hoping that she will feel better and better as she meets each goal. “I am going to become a first-time grandmother in 2019,” Roth says happily. “I plan on being around a long time to spoil my future grandbabies.”

Favorite Way to Exercise: Walking

Favorite Keto Recipe: Pizza with mozzarella-and-egg crust. “So easy and good,” says Roth.
