Images Story

By: Sharon Jackson

Hello, my name is Sharon. I am 52 years old and after my last child in 1994, I weighed 218 pounds. I lost weight by exercising and preparing my own food. I stopped eating sweets and decreased my carbs. I got down to and maintained a weight of 140 pounds (I am 5’8) up until 2016. I was affected by the floods in Louisiana and lost almost everything. I became depressed, homeless, and started eating whatever I wanted, and gained almost 60 pounds. Fibroids multiplied, mensural cycles were horrific. I am a sickle cell carrier and my labs have always shown mild anemia and with the monthly hemorrhaging it was the worst required transfusions and all. I ended up with 19 fibroids. My uterus was the size of a 6-month gestation. In 2019, I had a total abdominal hysterectomy (two previous c-sections a lot of scared tissue). I immediately started having hot flashes, memory problems, problems concentrating, crying daily about everything!! Saw a psychologist was started on Adderall and Wellbutrin started feeling better but still eating crap and still had a lot of fatigue. I went from running half marathons to not being about to walk a mile comfortably. March 19, 2021, I had my yearly physical and I weighed 189 pounds and my blood pressure was 170’s over 120’s. I am a family nurse practitioner and I am aware of the dangers of having high blood pressure. That night I came home determined to lose weight being 51 (at that time) in surgically induced menopause I went searching groups for women experiencing what I was experiencing and in one of the groups someone mentioned your YouTube channel and how it changed her life so I went to your channel. Since March 19th of this year, I am down 37 pounds!! I have shared your channel with soooo many people including my patients!!! I went down from a size 14 to a size 6!!! I had been a size 4 for over 20 years so that’s my goal!!! I do intermittent fasting 16:8. The Keto thing has been really difficult for me, but today I set new goals and will do more research and try harder to get into keto. I do fasting cardio every day, I have more energy and just overall feel better!!
