Emily Crow's Story

By: Emily Crow

As a stay-at-home mom, Emily Crow struggled to lose weight after having kids. Everyone told her that the baby weight would melt off from breastfeeding, but it didn’t happen that way for her. “It seemed so hard to lose weight, especially while nursing,” said Crow.

When her youngest son was weaning from breastfeeding, Crow looked up keto on YouTube and found Dr. Berg’s videos. She decided to start right after Christmas of 2017. “I was over being overweight!” she exclaimed. “I wanted it all off as soon as possible and as healthy as I could.”

Crow’s husband, mother and friends have all been supportive of her keto lifestyle and she constantly expresses how happy she is with this way of eating. “I feel good!” she said. “I can breathe walking up the steps and I'm sprinting and lifting weights now.”

The biggest lesson Crow learned from Dr. Berg is that intermittent fasting is key; she feels that the benefits outweigh the hunger of waiting to eat. Knowing that good fats make you feel full and satiated helped her stop feeling guilty about eating flavorful foods. “I don't feel deprived, and my mind isn't controlled by sugar and feeding that craving anymore.”

Now, she only wishes she had started earlier. She watches Dr. Berg’s videos to stay motivated. Having the weight come off effortlessly was pretty encouraging too,” Crow says. “I like all his videos for natural health. I want my body as clean and as healthy as possible.”

Since starting her keto and intermittent fasting journey, Crow has lost around 80 pounds (36 kg) with plans to lose 45 (20 kg) more. This unstoppable mom started an Instagram account to document her success: @ketosiStL.

Favorite Way to Exercise: Lifting heavy weights and walking.I just started lifting weights in August 2018 and I really like it!” says Crow. “I walk when I'm not lifting (doing all this at home). I haven't done a single sit-up and I feel like the belly went away when the intermittent fasting started.”

Favorite Keto Recipe: Cabbage and sausage or a huge spinach salad. “I keep meals easy and simple, eating once a day or sometimes twice a day,” Crow explains. “No snacks, and intermittent fasting for 18 to 20 hours.”
