Dear Dr. Berg, At age 51, 270 pounds and 5' 0" tall, I knew I needed to make some changes to get healthy and lose weight. I have a professional job where I work a lot of hours, sit a lot, and am in the car a lot. Luckily, I have been relatively healthy in that my numbers were good, but in Nov 2018, my blood sugar at fasting when I visited my regular doctor for a checkup was 120. I had already been researching some low carb strategies, and came across some information on keto. On Dec 28, 2018, I decided to start my keto journey. The month of January was pretty rough, as I loved bread and pasta and missed those foods. But I was diligent and stayed with under 20 grams of carbs each day. During the month of January, I ran across some of your videos on YouTube, and I was hooked! The way you share information, explain your "how to's" and whys around your keto recommendations is wonderful! I love science, and your format of providing the basics of the science behind why keto works is incredible. In February, I started understanding the power of intermittent fasting from your videos, and I incorporated IF in my keto strategy. My official weigh in day for myself is every Sunday, and as of April 14th, I have lost 53 pounds. My before picture is from June 2018, and my after picture is from April 2019. I am well on my way to lose over 100 pounds. I'll keep you posted on my journey. Thank you, Dr. Berg, for all the sharing you're doing online, and for being such a knowledgeable resource for so many. I wish I had known about keto a long time ago! Everything you say is true.. I feel great, I have tons of energy, fantastic mental clarity, and I'm NOT HUNGRY!
