After I gave birth to my daughter in December 2015, I went into postpartum depression. It may seem normal but I already had my own depression I was battling with! I breastfed my daughter for her first year and lost some weight but I was still eating like I was pregnant. It took a year to snap out of it and decided to make a change! In December 2016, I weighed 210lbs. I felt ok but not sexy but I had a young toddler to worry about so I didn’t worry about my appearance too much. In January 2017, I decided to participate in my church’s 21 day fast. I gave all of my devotion into pleasing God and fearful of disgracing Him if I didn’t fully commit. I cut sugar, bread, red meat and alcohol out of my diet for a whole month!! I saw results in a couple of months once I decided to keep the habit but had the occasional cheat meal here or there. By May or June, I weighed 160lbs!! My targeted weight! I weighed that before I got pregnant with my son in 2009! Of course I felt accomplished so I didn’t push myself anymore. I was ready to go to my vacation in Mexico in August and felt confident in a bathing suit; especially confident to indulge in all of the inclusives available. Things started going down hill after attending three birthday parties after that and then the holidays crept up. I indulged in the “good” stuff without worries! Thank God I never gained all the weight I had lost back! I only maxed out at 168lbs. It scared me to even reach 170lbs so then just recently, my keto and intermittent fasting journey kicked into gear!! It’s been a solid week of one meal a day with instant results! I lost 2 inches in my hips and waist! Today (4/23/2018), I have reached 156lbs! I never thought I would get out of my stalled weight of 160! Now I see that I can lose weight and eat healthier, I have set another goal weight to 140lbs! I may even include a workout regimen this week to spice things up! Thank you for reading my ups and downs through this transformation! It is totally possible to achieve your dreams and goals as long as you give it your whole mind, heart and soul!
