Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 ounces ground beef grass-fed
  • ½ cup tomato sauce organic, unsweetened
  • 8 ounces shirataki spaghetti noodles
  • ¼ onion medium, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • fresh parsley chopped
  • Parmesan grated
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat medium-sized pot over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 6 ounces ground beef.

  • Once ground beef is cooked thoroughly, stir in ½ cup tomato sauce. Cook mixture for 2 to 5 minutes and remove from heat when done.

  • Drain 8 ounces shirataki spaghetti noodles.

  • Heat medium-sized pan over medium-low heat.
  • Add remaining olive oil and ¼ onion. Sauté for five minutes or until onions are slightly tender.

  • Add shirataki noodles to onions and turn heat to medium-high. Sauté noodles 5 to 7 minutes, stirring continuously. Add salt to taste.

  • Remove from heat and quickly add 1 tablespoon butter. Mix until butter is completely melted and thoroughly combined.

  • Plate noodles, top with sauce, and garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan . Add Sea salt and pepper to taste.

  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For more flavor, sauté chopped onions and garlic in olive oil before adding the ground beef.
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce for a hint of spice.
  • Chopped basil adds another dimension of flavor to this dish and can be used as a garnish or cooked with ground beef.
  • Ground turkey also works well in this dish if you don't have ground beef. 
  • Zucchini noodles or spaghetti squash make excellent keto-friendly substitutes for shirataki noodles.  
  • You can transform this dish into a cheesy keto spaghetti casserole by topping it with mozzarella cheese and broiling it in an oven-safe dish until the cheese is melted.
