Ingredients

For dry rub:

  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon xylitol

For ribs:

  • 1 rack pork ribs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F / 121 degrees C.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon cumin, 1 tablespoon smoked paprika, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon salt, and 1 tablespoon xylitol in small bowl until well combined.

  • Place 1 rack pork ribs on large sheet of aluminum foil and generously coat with dry rub mixture on both sides.

  • Wrap ribs tightly in aluminum foil, ensuring no steam can escape.
  • Put wrapped ribs on baking sheet and cook in preheated oven for 5 to 6 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove ribs from aluminum foil and place on baking tray.
  • Increase oven temperature to 400 degrees F / 204 degrees C.
  • Cook ribs for additional 7 to 8 minutes or until outside is crispy.
  • Remove from oven and let cool for several minutes before serving.

  • Slow-cook the ribs using a slow cooker for maximum tenderness.
  • You can use baby back ribs, St. Louis ribs, or spare ribs for this recipe.  
  • For extra flavor, baste the ribs with sugar-free BBQ sauce before cooking.
