Ingredients

  • 16 ounces rib eye steak
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F / 177 degrees C.
  • Cover cutting board with plastic wrap. Place 16 ounces rib eye steak on top of plastic wrap and cover with another piece of plastic wrap. With mallet, gently pound steak until about ¼ inch thick, flipping halfway through.

  • Put 2 teaspoons garlic salt, ½ teaspoon thyme, and 1 teaspoon black pepper into medium bowl. Stir to combine. Season steak on both sides with seasoning mixture.

  • Place ½ cup Parmesan cheese on plate and dip 4 ounces mozzarella cheese slices in Parmesan. Set cheese aside.

  • Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to large saute pan and heat on medium-high heat, about three minutes.

  • Sear steak thoroughly on both sides until crust forms. Add seared steak to 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish.
  • Top steak with Paremasan coated mozzarella cheese slices and bake in oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Bake until cheese melts and begins to brown, and steak is cooked to your preference.
  • Let rest five minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy.
