Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream cheese cubed, softened
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F / 149 degrees C.
  • In large bowl, combine 1 cup cream cheese, ¼ cup sour cream, 1 cup cheddar cheese, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, Salt and pepper to taste. Mix until smooth.

  • Stir in 1½ pounds broccoli until evenly coated.

  • Lightly coat baking dish with olive oil cooking spray. Transfer mixture and top with 1 cup Parmesan cheese.

  • Bake for 40 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and melted.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can incorporate frozen or fresh broccoli in this recipe. However, if using frozen broccoli, fully thaw and drain excess water to avoid a soggy texture.
  • While sharp cheddar is ideal, you can substitute it with your preferred cheese blend to suit your taste preferences.
  • Steamed broccoli can replace raw broccoli but reduce the baking time to prevent overcooking.
  • Incorporate onion powder, garlic powder, or red pepper flakes for added flavor.
  • For a crunchy topping, top the casserole with pork rinds or crushed almonds before baking.
  • To create a creamy cheese sauce for the casserole, combine heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese in a saucepan and combine until smooth.
