Adam Hatten was nearly bedridden while he was dealing with a few autoimmune diseases two years ago. So, despite his doctor’s advice that the foods he was eating would have no effect on his health issues, Hatten decided to change his diet.
He started with Paleo, and after seeing major improvement, he tried the Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP). Impressed by thestriking changes that came from changing the way he ate,Hatten then tried Keto. Results of his experiment: to date he’s lost 130 pounds and is free of all his autoimmune diseases.
Hatten, like many others, found the beginning of the process to be the most difficult. “I had to develop completely new healthy habits and let the old unhealthy habits die,” he explained.“But once I had quit sugar completely and killed the cravings, the process became a lot easier to stay consistent.”
Dr. Berg’s advice and well-rounded knowledge were huge factors in Hatten’s impressive success. “Honestly, just his consistent positive encouragement was what I needed the most,” said Hatten.“When I doubted how my body would be affected in the longterm I would be reassured by his videos.”
Due to his autoimmune issues, Hatten follows an unusually strict version of Keto that eliminates dairy, legumes, nightshade vegetables, eggs, nuts, and seeds. Family and friends were skeptical that cutting out so many foods could be healthy. “They kept telling me it's about ‘balance,’” said Hatten.“But after I started showing huge results they got on board.”
Although the journey wasn’t always easy, Hatten wouldn’t have it any other way. He explains that without obstacles, nothing can be accomplished. “I would do anything to not go back to my old life,” he says.“I can't afford to go back, physically or mentally.” His commitment has paid off: nowhe feels like a completely different person.
“I have willpower for the first time in my life. I don't overeat. I have control over my own life,” he says. “I can finally wake up and go a whole day without any pain or discomfort at all. I haven't experienced that since I was a child. I feel like I'm getting younger by the day!”
Inspired by Dr. Berg, Hatten has started his own YouTube channel called“AdamImmune”and hopesto encourage others the way Dr. Berg encouraged him. He says his goal was never weight loss. Focusing on his health came first and losing weight followed naturally. He wants to show that if he can do it, anyone can.
