To change her life from the past, in which she made continual visits to the emergency room, to a much happier present time in which she is one of Dr. Berg’s certified Keto Coaches, Pamela Miles followed Dr. Berg’s advice exactly and is now reaping the benefits of a much healthier life. Miles was obese and physically ill for 11 years: she was pre-diabetic and had mitral valve prolapse, endometriosis, a heart murmur, and gastritis. To make it worse, she was suffering from severe anxiety/panic disorder and depression. “My depression from PTSD was even to the point of not being able to drive,” she said.
She first learned about Dr. Berg through her cousin and watched his videos at least 10 hours a day. “I have seen hundreds of them,” she said. “I watched them all day at work and in the evenings.” Once she started keto, Miles researched several other keto YouTube channels and found Dr. Berg to be the most accurate and knowledgeable. “You have to make sure you thoroughly educate yourself with someone that teaches keto the right way,” she said.
Miles has been doing keto and intermittent fasting for two years. For her, the weight loss was a breeze. “The hardest part was having to buy new clothes,” she said. “The weight was falling off!” She’s lost almost 60 pounds (27 kg) and now eats one meal a day.
“I went from a size 22 to a size 8 but the best part is knowing that I’m educated and feeling great,” said Miles. “I have my life back. I no longer obsess over my illnesses or getting cancer. This is a lifestyle for me and I can finally wear a pair of shorts and a sleeveless shirt.”
Although she didn’t have much support in the process, Miles was still able to achieve her goal weight and reverse all of her illnesses. “All my friends thought I was extreme and told me this is unhealthy,” she explained. “But I feel fabulous. Like a new person. The quality of my life is unbelievable.”
