I grew up extremely overweight. When I was in high school, I started dieting. For 14 years, I fought with food in a love-hate relationship. After doing the ketogenic diet and becoming fat adapted, I finally LOVE food. I've lost 10 lbs in my first 4 weeks of being in ketosis. I'm not "hangry" anymore. I would like to lose 30 lbs, in addition to what I've lost so far. I feel like I'm on a peaceful path to health. I used to feel like it was a constant uphill battle. Food does not run my life anymore! The attached picture is of me at my heaviest weight vs today me.
