What Is an Amino Acid

We’ve heard about amino acids many times in our lives, and we know that ithey are what protein is made of. They’re famously known as the building blocks of protein.

The breaking down of protein into small particles of amino acid happens in our liver, then our body tissues reassemble them into various structures namely, the genes, blood tissues, muscles, collagen, neurotransmitters, enzymes, and even antibiotics.

The body basically needs these amino acids to make 50 000 distinct combinations to be healthy and functional. The much-needed essential amino acids can’t be produced by the body, so they have to be obtained from what we eat.

Non-essential, on the other hand, are those that can be created in your body, specifically in the liver. Surprisingly, eggs are compact with all the proteins we need. In fact, it’s best to eat four to five eggs a day, as our body is in dire need of the minerals every single day.
