This kale shake is very simple with only a few ingredients. The first ingredient is the superfood kale, which has 35,000 international units of vitamin A, and we're going to use the stems. We also have blueberries, which are really good in all sorts of phytonutrients. I like frozen blueberries, and they don't have to be organic. We have bananas, too, which have fiber that’s good for losing weight.
This delicious blueberry kale smoothie is something you can consume at night or even replace dinner or breakfast in the morning, unless you're really hungry.
Phytonutrients Definition: Chemicals created by plants that give health benefits because of their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
The Different Types of Kale
There are different types of raw kale. I use green kale and red kale, which has more pigments that are better for the macula of the eye. So, if you've heard of macular degeneration, red kale has an unbelievable amount of phytonutrients to help the macula of the eye. Then, I also have dinosaur kale, which has a good flavor, is very crispy and is very good for making shakes. It blends nicely. You can choose from one of these types for your superfood smoothie.
Macular Degeneration Definition: A condition where the macula of the eye deteriorates, affecting one's vision.
You can even add other types of berries and cinnamon to enhance the taste of this keto drink.
