The Best Remedy for Hormonal Cystic Acne

Dr. Eric Berg

What's really behind cystic acne?

Hormones.

I had horrible acne as a teen, and despite my best efforts with creams, astringents, and washing my face obsessively, little did I know none of these would help because the problem was really hormones.

There’s 2 main reasons for cystic acne. Hormones and an enzyme which accelerates hormone production.

First, I’m going explain how these hormonal causes behind cystic acne work, and then I’ll give you some remedies for cystic acne that really work, so you can finally have some relief from this problem and enjoy clear skin again.

Causes of Cystic Acne

1. If you’re female, you could have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

This is a condition where you’re making too much male hormone, specifically testosterone. You might be getting facial hair, a deeper voice, weight gain and definitely acne.

Really, what’s behind this high testosterone production, however, is high levels of insulin.

A lot of times you’ll hear PCOS is “associated with” high insulin or insulin resistance.

NO.

PCOS is directly caused by HIGH insulin and insulin resistance. It’s not just associated with insulin resistance –it’s really the sole cause of it.

So, I put a link down below with a video that will help you learn how to lower insulin and heal insulin resistance that will help you to experience some really fast results to your acne problem.

That’s one cause and one really big cure for your problem. But there could be another factor at work here as well.

2. Whether you’re male or female, you could have too much of an enzyme called Five Alpha Reductase.

There’s an enzyme that converts testosterone into what’s called DHT – a very powerful form of testosterone that causes cystic acne. It’s called Five Alpha Reductase.

In certain people, you just have too much of this enzyme. So, you can take a Five Alpha Reductase Inhibitor—a natural one.

This inhibitor happens to be present in all the cruciferous vegetables such as kale, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and cabbage. Getting a lot of these into the diet will help.

But often getting enough of them and just the right amount to achieve results is difficult.

Some people just don’t have time to get all of these into their diets or even more commonly, they experience a lot of gas and bloating with cruciferous vegetables, which inhibits their weight loss efforts.

This is why I recommend supplements which help you get all the benefits of cruciferous vegetables into your diet without having to worry about finding good local, organic cruciferous veggies year-round or the time it takes cooking them and eating them as well.

Plus, you’ll get more immediate results .

There’s a cruciferous vegetables supplement called “DIM,” which is a form of concentrated cruciferous vegetables.

Two tablets of DIM is equivalent to two pounds of cruciferous vegetables. I use this for all my clients and it yields great results in fighting acne and remedying vitamin and mineral deficiencies of all kinds.

The best way to get DIM that I recommend is in Estrogen Balance with DIM. It has 200 mgs. of DIM which is the “just right” amount to conquer cystic acne.

**Word of caution: It is very important that you don’t take more than 200 mgs. of DIM because if you take too much, it has the exact opposite reaction – it creates more acne!

It’s kind of like when you have a kidney infection—a little cranberry is good but not too much.

So DIM or Estrogen Balance with DIM is definitely what you need to stop this conversion and really clear up your acne -the best remedy for cystic acne.
